BUNNALOO farmer Pete Durrant is a sport when he goes fishing – no lines, no hooks, no nets he catches his fish by hand.
And the only one who isn’t impressed is his curious dog Keira, who got fish slapped for getting too close to the action.
By the time Pete had finished fishing he had landed 24 carp from the dam on his NSW farm.
While he has never thought a drought could have an upside, it clearly has. A small one anyway.
It has allowed him to clean the river rabbits out of the dams on his sheep and cropping farm.
And now they are carp free he would love some rain to fill them up again so he can get back to the serious business of running his farm.
